Top Stories

With the help from the office of innovation management, a new partnership has been established between the UL Physics Department and Trinity Refining and Safety Systems, a local oil and fuels company that develops products to provide a comprehensive solution for the conditioning and filtering of lubricants, delivering a cleaner and more refined fluid that enhances machinery performance and durability. In this new partnership, with the team led by Dr. Michalis Charilaou of the Physics Department, who specializes in magnetic materials, together with Dr. Tolga Karsili and Dr. Augusto Gallo from the Chemistry Department, who are experts in organic chemistry and hydrocarbons, Trinity seeks to advance their technology and develop superior products. Trinity provides support for research in the College of Sciences and for one doctoral student in the Earth and Energy Sciences program. This project strengthens the bonds between UL Lafayette and the local industrial community, synergizing the university’s research expertise and commercial development. It promotes the expansion of novel technologies and solutions that will benefit the University and the State of Louisiana and, through UL Lafayette’s partnership with Trinity, advance a unique and disruptive technology in the energy sector.
