How to Support Physics
Donations can be made by using the UL Lafayette Foundation website (the foundation phone number is 337-482-0700). In the form, you can use the “comments” section to direct your gift to where you would like it to go. Alternately, checks can be made out to the UL Foundation with instructions for directing the money in the notes section of the check. In these cases it is most effective to mail the check to the Department of Physics and we can hand deliver it to the foundation.
We encourage Physics donors to use one of the funds described below. Please contact the Department of Physics directly if you have a question or if you require special arrangements.
Contributions to endowed funds will go to the principle, and the department can use the interest earned. This type of fund is suggested for donations over $500. The endowed funds along with their identification numbers are
- #13494 Endowed Physics Fund for general use of the department, including faculty and student needs
- #16328 Endowed Physics Faculty Development for use in faculty training and resources
- #02448 Endowed Physics Scholarship for an outstanding undergraduate student.
Contributions to non-endowed funds will be used for immediate departmental needs such as computer or lab equipment. These funds are non-interest earning, and is suggested for donations less than $500.
- #04150 Physics Fund for immediate departmental needs
