Andi Petculescu, Professor of Physics at UL Lafayette and Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America, has just returned from a two-month research stay at ISAE-Supaero in Toulouse, France. He was invited by the prestigious French institution as part of a collaboration to analyze acoustic signals received by the SuperCam microphone of the Perseverance rover on Mars.

In addition, Andi will join an international team of planetary scientists, under the umbrella of the International Space Science Institute. The research focus of the 12-member team, led by Baptiste Chide from the Los Alamos National Laboratories, is the development of acoustic data acquisition and analysis methodologies for current and future planetary exploration missions. The team's first meeting will be in Bern, Switzerland (February 20–24, 2023).
